Our Rich History Attracts People From Near and Far
As you step foot for the first time upon Penn Oaks Golf Club, the perfect scenery and breathtaking views may take you back in time. The magic of our terrain as an area landmark dates back to pre-colonial era, when King Charles II first bestowed the parcel of land to William Penn.
Our grounds are uniquely positioned both in Chester and Delaware County, making it convenient for Pennsylvania residents and our Delaware neighbors. The property was acquired in 1965 by Alfred Vilone, who was the first president and principal founder of the then-Cavaliers Country Club. Course designer Russell Roberts created the majestic essence of Penn Oaks Golf Club, whereupon it remained under Vilone’s ownership and management until 1990. The Iacobucci Organization purchased and operated the club for the next fifteen years until a group of passionate golf enthusiasts and local business partners acquired it. It currently remains privately owned, yet holds many of the same ideals of its founders.
Although the forest of oak trees that once ran thick across the land is now beautifully manicured, the course has many of its original elements still intact. Grand pine trees line the rolling hillsides of the course’s narrow layout, making it challenging even for many of the pros. On this 18-hole golf course, you will find plenty of adventurous terrain such as hills, lakes, trees and long yards to get your ball to the green at a daring pace.
